Dr. Ariel Graff is senior scientist with the Brain Health Imaging Centre and Adult Neurodevelopment and Geriatric Psychiatry Division at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). At CAMH, he is also head of multimodal imaging group in schizophrenia and geriatrics and medical head of the inpatient geriatric psychiatry service. Areas of Research
The overall aim of Dr. Graff’s research is to better understand the neurobiological characteristics of the different sub-types of schizophrenia as defined by response to treatment. Particularly treatment-resistant schizophrenia and ultra-treatment resistant schizophrenia. Dr. Graff employs a multimodal neuroimaging approach, including positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI, fMRI and MRS). PET and MRS allow exploring brain’s neurochemistry in vivo; fMRI explores the neuronal function; and MRI explores the brain structure.
